Black eyes on Dr. Liscense?

My girlfriend has a very rare eye condition which he can not run, is to wear tinted sunglasses, can not read anything unless it is enlarged, so I completely forget what the disease is known, however. Well, I was at his ID card and it says his eyes are "black". Is this even possible? I look at his eyes and I think I can see a small pupil in the middle, but it is difficult to b / c if he is not wearing his glasses, he sort of squint. Anyways, all information will help. Thank you!

Eye color names are not very precise. "Black" is often used to describe very dark brown Africans and Asians have.
